Borgetinde 3338m

The only route so far climbed involves a non technical route up steepening glaciers and snow and ice fields and the negotiation of an ice fall quite high on the mountain. Some short technical climbing may be necessary to obtain the true summit.

  • Possible mixed climbing on granite rock.
  • Situated approximately 10kms East of Ejnar Mikkelsens Fjeld.
  • Unsuitable for mixed climbing due to poor basalt rock
  • Situated approximately 30kms east of the Watkins Mountains.
  • Large massif with several summits
  • 2000m vertical height gain from basecamp to summit
  • Only one previous ascent up to the turn of the Millennium (1971)
  • Non technical ascent via it's original route
  • Possibilities for new and more technical routes
  • An ascent of Ejnar Mikkelsens Fjeld 3,308m can also be attempted during the same expedition
