GREENLAND HELISKI - ITINERARY

DAY 1 (Sat)
    
Depart Reykjavik airport, Iceland, 09.45
Arrive Constable Point, northeast Greenland’ 11.45
Check in to airport accommodation. Lunch at airport
Pre-course clothing/equipment shake down session
Safety briefing
Avalanche transceiver and casualty search training
Assess local weather, snow and avalanche conditions for the week
All evening dinners and breakfasts provided at the airport

DAY 2 (Sun)
    
am - Ski tour to nearby summits for local ski descents
pm - Heli skiing in southern Liverpool Land

DAY 3 (Mon)
    
Heli skiing in southern Liverpool Land

DAY 4 (Tue)
    
Southern Liverpool Land ski tour

DAY 5 (Wed)
    
Snowmobile and dog sled expedition options.
Fly by helicopter to local Inuit settlement of Scoresbysund
Enjoy a days snowmobiling, dog sledding or hunting amongst the southern mountains and sea ice of Scoresbysund fjord. Opportunity to visit ice bergs.
Visit local tourist shop for shopping and local Inuit souvenirs.

DAY 6 (Thu)
    
Heli skiing in southern Liverpool Land
Evening slide talk

DAY 7 (Fri)
    
Heli skiing in northern Liverpool Land

DAY 8 (Sat)

Depart Constable Point 12.30.
Arrive Kulusuk airport, east Greenland 12.30 (2hr flight, -2hr time difference)
Depart Kulusuk 14.30.
Arrive Reykjavik 18.30 (2hr flight, + 2hr time difference)



NOTES

i. The example itinerary allows for 4 days heli skiing, 1 days ski touring, and a one day option to snowmobile, dog sled, hunt or ice fish in the local settlement of Scoresbysund. This is based on an assumption that for example two days are non flying days on which the group could opt to go ski touring, snowmobiling, dog sledding or hunting or ice fishing.

ii. Snowmobile transportation is also available for access to the mountains and some summits as a means of reducing the overall cost.

iii. The programme is suitable for downhill skiers, ski tourers, snowboarders and Telemark skiers.

iv. For private groups this itinerary is totally flexible (weather dependent) and can be adapted to your preferences.
